What is the 2x2 SWOT matrix?

The 2×2 SWOT matrix is the classic visualization for SWOT analysis. It organizes factors into four quadrants: Strengths (internal/positive), Weaknesses (internal/negative), Opportunities (external/positive), and Threats (external/negative). This visualization helps quickly identify relationships and strategic priorities.

The quadrant layout provides immediate visual context. Internal factors (Strengths/Weaknesses) are on the left, external factors (Opportunities/Threats) on the right. Positive factors are on top, negative on bottom. This helps identify strategic combinations like using Strengths to capitalize on Opportunities (SO Strategy) or addressing Weaknesses to avoid Threats (WT Strategy).

Yes! Each item in the quadrants has edit and delete buttons. Click the edit button (pencil icon) to modify an item, or the delete button (trash icon) to remove it. All changes are automatically saved to your browser’s local storage.

Your analyses are saved in your browser’s local storage indefinitely. They will remain available even after closing your browser or restarting your computer. However, if you clear your browser data or use private browsing mode, your analyses will not be saved.

Absolutely! The visual quadrant format is perfect for workshops and presentations. You can build the analysis collaboratively, then export it as text to include in reports or presentations. The clear visual organization makes it easy to explain to stakeholders.
