Edit Prompt

Can I create new categories when adding prompts?

Yes! When adding or editing a prompt, you’ll see a “Create New” link next to the category dropdown. Click it to reveal a field where you can enter a new category name. The new category will be instantly added to your list and selected for your prompt.

When you delete a category, any custom prompts assigned to that category will be reassigned to the “General” category. This ensures you don’t lose your custom prompts. You can then edit those prompts to assign them to a different category if you wish.

There’s no strict limit, but performance is optimized for up to 50 categories and 200 custom prompts. The tool uses your browser’s localStorage, which typically has a 5-10MB limit, so you’d need thousands of items to reach that limit.

Once deleted, items cannot be recovered unless you use the “Reset to Defaults” button, which restores the original default categories and prompts (but not your custom ones). Your history and current customizations are saved automatically after every change.

Simply click the edit button next to the prompt you want to modify. In the edit view, you can select a different category from the dropdown or create a new category. Click save to update the prompt with its new category assignment.
